Professor John Logan Quoted in Several News Outlets on Labor Law Violations

Department Chair and Professor of Labor and Employment Studies John Logan spoke to several news outlets about companies breaking the federal labor law and the insufficient penalties for doing so. 

According to Logan, the Starbucks case related to the international coffee chain offering exclusive benefits to non-union employees is an example of breaching labor law. Logan thinks Starbucks is losing this case. However, he says, "The problem is when you have a company with such deep pockets as Starbucks and that it's willing to fight to the bitter end, Starbucks can win even by losing at the NLRB."

For other companies that are closing their stores with active union drives, Logan believes it is hard to provide evidence of closure violations.
